Accessibility

What is accessibility?

In terms of web design, accessibility concerns the ease with which all visitors to your website can navigate and enjoy your content.

Why does my website need to be accessible?

First and foremost - it's the law!

The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1999 Section III refers to services needing to be accessible to those with disabilities and this is taken to include your website.

Secondly, you have a moral obligation to make it as easy as possible for the 20% of people with poor eyesight, arthritis, etc. to access your site.

Thirdly, you owe it to your business to profit from the spending power of people with disabilities.

Accessibility and Peak Visibility

Where claims are made in court using the DDA, the W3C guidelines tend to be used as the benchmark for deciding cases.

We strive to make all websites we design as accessible as we can by sticking as closely as possible to the W3C accessibility guidelines.
